About the conference
The Texas Society of CPAs (TXCPA) hosts an annual Financial Institutions Conference that brings together CPAs, internal auditors, and finance professionals working at banks and credit unions. The 2024 edition runs online over two days and covers regulatory updates, economic trends, and the new tooling shaping how finance teams operate.
If you're in banking or accounting and you haven't registered yet, the conference page on TXCPA's site has the full agenda.
Shan Edwards on the essentials of cloud finance
moneta's co-founder, Shan Edwards, is presenting a featured session titled "The Essentials of Cloud Finance." The talk walks through five capabilities every finance team needs to manage cloud spend with confidence:
- Visibility into where cloud cost is going, broken out by team and product.
- A framework for collaborating with engineering on optimization.
- AI-assisted recommendations for reducing waste.
- Tools to select and manage cloud discount programs.
- Allocation and tagging strategies that tie cloud spend back to the general ledger.
The session is built for finance professionals who didn't come up through cloud — the goal is to leave with a checklist you can apply at your own institution, not a list of acronyms.
Why we keep showing up at events like this
Banks and credit unions are some of the most thoughtful adopters of cloud — and some of the most disciplined buyers. Conferences like TXCPA are where the next generation of cloud financial management practices get pressure-tested by people who have to defend their decisions to regulators.
That's a useful audience. We learn at least as much as we teach.
If you'd like to talk after the session — or you can't attend but want a copy of the materials — get in touch via our contact page.
